Volunteer

At Community Bread Basket, Inc. volunteers assist in a wide variety of ways. From sorting donations to handing out food at our weekly food pantry, our volunteers are an integral part to the success of the Community Bread Basket.

Typically volunteers are not asked to work a set number of hours. We have a number of services at which volunteers are needed, so there are lots of options throughout the week. Once you begin volunteering, we may call you at later points in time when we need some extra help.

Volunteer duties include assisting clients in understanding and filling out paperwork, sorting and organizing donated products, handing out products to clients, packaging food for the food pantry, and maintaining records. Volunteers are also welcome at special events throughout the year, such as wrapping presents around Christmas time. Volunteers need to be able to lift at least 10 lbs without assistance.

While volunteering is sometimes hard work, it is satisfying to know that you are helping families in need. We appreciate any time you can give us - every little bit helps! To see current volunteers in action, come by our office or visit a food pantry near you!
